Quality & certifications
Quality built into every batch
Quality is controlled from raw polymer to packed dispatch, with documented checks at each stage and traceability back to the compound batch.

QC process
Inspection from incoming to dispatch
01
Core inspection
Incoming or customer cores checked for straightness, journal wear and corrosion before work starts.
02
Core preparation
Old cover stripped, core shot blasted and primed so the new cover bonds firmly.
03
Compound control
Each compound batch checked for hardness and cure before it is applied to a roller.
04
Covering and curing
Cover applied without trapped air or porosity, then vulcanised under controlled conditions.
05
Grinding and finishing
Ground to the finished diameter and crown, then polished, grooved or patterned as specified.
06
Final inspection
Hardness, diameter, run-out against the bearing seats and surface finish recorded before dispatch.
Laboratory
Testing and measuring equipment
| Equipment | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Shore A hardness tester | Hardness checked along the face of every roller |
| Dial gauge | Run-out and concentricity against the bearing seats; bore accuracy |
| Vernier caliper and micrometer | Diameter, face length and journal dimensions |
| Cylindrical grinder | Finished diameter and crown to specification |
| Balancing machine | Dynamic and static balancing for high-speed rollers [TODO: confirm] |
| Compound testing | Hardness and cure checks on each compound batch [TODO: confirm in-house] |
Inspection standards
Diameter, run-out and hardness are checked against the customer drawing or the agreed specification, and results are recorded for each roller. [TODO: list any standards applied.]
